Louisville-based Wild Eggs, which acquired St. Louis brand Crazy Bowls & Wraps in March 2024, has transformed its Jeffersontown, Kentucky location into a Crazy Bowls & Wraps virtual kitchen — the first step in bringing the CBW brand into the Louisville market.

Crazy Bowls and Wraps

Wild Eggs is a contemporary breakfast, brunch, and lunch destination with locations across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. After acquiring Crazy Bowls & Wraps in March 2024, the company converted its Jeffersontown location into a CBW virtual kitchen, operating through third-party delivery partners for online pickup and delivery only.

CBW has built a reputation in the healthy fast-casual segment, offering fully customizable bowls, wraps, and salads that cater to a wide range of diets. Customers can order through crazybowlsandwraps.com or their favorite delivery apps.

The new virtual kitchen model lets Wild Eggs offer more variety to its Louisville customers without touching its own breakfast, brunch, and lunch menus. Crazy Bowls & Wraps continues to operate as its own distinct brand under the partnership.

The move follows Wild Eggs' 2023 announcement of franchising opportunities across eight states — Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The acquisition opens franchising possibilities for Crazy Bowls & Wraps as well, giving current and prospective Wild Eggs franchisees an additional revenue stream.

"This partnership is the perfect way for us to use our state-of-the-art kitchens and our third-party delivery partners to expand the CBW Brand into the Louisville market without the intensive capital outlay," said Andy Abbajay, CEO of Wild Eggs. "We plan to add a few stand-alone Crazy Bowls locations in the next 12-16 months while leveraging our Wild Eggs sites. By bringing Crazy Bowls & Wraps into the mix, we're offering a whole new dining experience that's fresh, flavorful, and convenient."

Wild Eggs was established in 2007 and is headquartered in Louisville; it was acquired by a private equity fund in January 2023. Crazy Bowls & Wraps was founded in 1994 in the St. Louis metro area — serving kale to customers as early as 1997 — and currently operates 16 stores in the St. Louis market, employing more than 300 people.

The Jeffersontown virtual kitchen is the first of what Wild Eggs says will be several stand-alone Crazy Bowls & Wraps locations opening in the Louisville market over the next 12 to 16 months.
